Mountain Bike Instructor Profiles - Mark

I guess I’m the downhill junkie - I absolutely love the descents! I’ve ridden all over the UK and Europe. It’s the drop-offs, the speed, the fast technical descents... I guess my favourite rides would have to be anywhere in the Lakes, it’s hard to beat, especially something like the High Street range, or the French National Courses in the Alps around Morzine and Les Gets.

I’ve been riding since the 70s - everything from a Marin to Orange, which is what I’ve got now.

Mountain biking is just so much fun, getting out there socialising with your mates or out in the wilds and the fresh air.

It’s challenging too so everyone’s in the same boat: always learning.

The way the courses have been put together by Ray and Mike is tremendous. It’s so rewarding to see how much people come on. People really grow and are really made-up by the end, which is awesome.

back up in a really clear way so everyone learns so much. And there’s such a mix of people; we’re all chatting all the way round having a laugh and learning.

When I stopped work last year from the nuclear industry, I was really worried I would miss the social side and chatting with people. But these skills courses are the perfect way for people of all walks of life to achieve something together - and for themselves that they can take away. I’m absolutely loving meeting everyone and taking their riding to the next level - whatever that may be for them.
